The Garden Room is available to all children at Hatch Warren Under Fives Preschool.  The Garden Room was created to provide enhanced learning and play opportunities for all of our children on a regular basis.  

We run these sessions as a small group with a maximum of 12 children to 2 adults. The Garden Room activities give us further opportunities to concentrate on our lovely children individually. Our Key Carers accompany their Key Children into pre-planned activities that match our weekly theme.

The learning is based around exploring new experiences but most of all, having “fun” in a positive environment. The stimulating activities focus on extending the children’s learning with strong links to the EYFS.

Activities vary from week to week and may include science experiments, messy play, letter/number recognition, tracing, writing, outdoor activities and much more!

Whilst the activities are primarily adult led, children discover the play opportunities for themselves. Sustained shared thinking is often encouraged by practitioners when engaging with the children.

All of the Garden Room activities are also available in the Main Room each week for our smaller group sessions.

We use the Leuven scale of wellbeing and involvement to ensure the activities are fun, stimulating and engaging for all children.
